A backup you have never restored is a guess, not a plan. Test recovery regularly so you know your data actually comes back, and how long it takes. That number, how long until you are running again, is what really matters during an outage.

A recovery plan does not have to be big to be useful. Start with what matters most: which systems and data you need first, who does what, and how you restore them. You can grow it over time. Something beats nothing.
